Hello and welcome. It’s been a minute since I blogged. I was on a spiritual quest. I was doing a forty days fasting and praying but part of the reason was my last post publish at the wrong time of day which annoyed me for a while.

On to the most important thing. So I did a 40 days fasting and praying with a congregation I used to be part of. I must say I have totally forgotten how difficult this spiritual exercise is in the beginning.

It was more difficult now as I have been eating more frequently now than a few years ago.

The type of fasting

I was having  one meal a day so basically from dinner to dinner. I also had no water. I guess you can call it a dry fast.

In the beginning

The beginning of the fast was difficult. I felt hungry and I wanted food now! But as the days went by I got used to it. And even now I still have to put myself in check before I eat anything because my brain is fixed on the #NoFoodYet period.

Mid point

At this stage I was used to not eating or drinking till about 19:00 to 20:00. I waited till  I got home to make myself something to eat.

What I learnt

I think a week or two I to the fast I stopped posting on social media both private and public account. Let say reduced posting. Partly because I noticed how much time I spent on editing my picture and trying to collect cleverly put together words for my post. I spent more time studying and editing my videos for my YouTube channel. Due to this I have decided to post once in a while rather than every day. I don’t want to be in bondage of having to post all the time.

I also found that I thought clearer and focused better in the beginning of the day but then when the day got older I got tired and a bit drained. I also found myself sleepier when I was at home than when I was at work. You have to keep yourself busy during this time.

Physical benefit

I find that my skin is so smooth and was clearing up. This is because when you don’t eat you internal organs repairs itself and gets rid of toxins. Toxins is what cause acne at times and possibly hormonal imbalance which can lead to acne. I currently have no spot on my face. I have also been doing my turmeric facial on a regular basis which is helping. My nails also grew longer and stronger. I am not taking any vitamins however I have been drink a this water, mint, ginger, lemon, cucumber and ACV mixture after my meals.

What’s in my smoothie?

Hello and welcome to my blog. This blogpost is about this week’s smoothie. Thankfully I found kale on my visit to Asda today so I bought a pack.

The ingredient in the smoothie are as follows:

Kale

Spinach

Strawberries

Blueberries

Mango

Broccoli

Almond milk

Cinnamon

I didn’t use all the ingredient just so I don’t waste them.

This is your more than five a day in one glass. The last time I added kale to my smoothie I regretted it; this was a couple of years ago. I struggled to drink it as it tasted and smelt awful so this time I added Cinnamon as I have been doing. The taste is not so bad thank God.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week’s smoothie had a bit of a twist. I added avocado for the first time. It does taste any different but obviously you will taste the hint of avocado in it.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This blog is about healthy drinks you can drink and todays star veg is *Cucumber*. When i started my clear skin diet, cucumber and carrot juice were my go to juices. I did my research so i was aware of the nutrition it both provided.

The benefits

Cucumber is made up of 95% water and therefore is hydrating. It has many benefits to the skin both topical and internally. It has traces of folic acid, vitamin A, B, C and K, to name but a few. Those with dark circles can put a slice or the juice on your dark circle area. The benefits are countless. I can testify that it will contribute to a healthy glowy skin if you incorporate this in your diet; whether eating  the vegetable as is or drinking the juice. I battled acne with this juice.

I am also aware you will be getting rid of the fiber part of the vegetable which is good for digestion. You can put it to use by making a facial out of it.

Where to get the juicer

You will need a very good juicer to grind the carrot especially. Argos had an affordable one in their Good Cook range and a few years ago it was not too expensive however you are now looking at spending more than £100 for a good one. I also got one from Asda from £30 however the motor didnt survive however they do have a more expensive ones as well. As mentioned above, to get one with a high watts you are looking at £100. Let me know if you have tried any juicing lately.

Feel free to share other vegetables you juice i would like to try.

I have not taken the time to look at the ingredient on the coconut water carton well but i chosen it because other fruit juices tend to have too much sugar in them.

The papaya i saw in asda wasnt riped. I actually wanted to do this smoothie during the week but did’nt have the time to.

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today i am coming to you with yet another smoothie.  I wish i could have a smoothie everyday but we all know fruits tend to be very expensive so once my smoothie finishes i have to wait till my next purchase of fruits for smoothie. Today or should i say this weeks smoothie ingredient is as follows:

Kiwi

Apple

Strawberries

Blueberries

Pineapple

Cinnamon

And coconut water as base

I tend to add cinnamon to almost everything. I have not reason for this i just like the flavour it gives my smoothie. In addition it is high in antioxidant. #Win

Blueberries are known for their high content of antioxidant and thus good for your wellbeing. According to Dr Axe “antioxidants help prevent damage of tissues and cells caused by free radicals, they’re needed to protect against heart disease and stroke.”
