All dressed up and ready for church

Hello and welcome to my blog. Another Sunday and thankful for God mercy and grace.

fbt

Hello it’s me again

I must say I do love the weekend: time to rest and refresh my mind for the week ahead.

So Sundays sermon was taken from Romans 8:1-8 which is Justification of those who believe in God through Christ Jesus.

Those who believe in God through Christ Jesus have been declared to be not guilty based on what Christ has done for us on the cross. The price has been paid by His Son Jesus Christ. We have received an assurance we are His children. We will share on Christs glory as a result the Spirit intercede for us. Glory to God.

The look

So I tried to do a green and black eye shadow. For my lips I am wearing BarryM lip liner in plum and L’Oréal’s lip infallible ‘The Bigger The Better’. For my foundation, I mixed L’Oréal’s Deep cool and Lancome’s new foundation in shade 16 so Y because I couldn’t find  my L’Oréal truematch in dark coffee.  The eye shadow I used is MUA cosmetics, bare minerals mascara and gel eye liner.

The outfit

I wore a green and black dress given to me by my mother. The dress is from Oasis and I must say it fits better now that I have a few pounds on.

That’s all for today. Until next time stay blessed and have a fruitful wheel.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is another all dressed up and ready for church. First the word.

The Sermon

Incense were left burning as a sweet smelling savour to God in the temple. The fragrance symbolises the acceptance of sacrifices. They represented the basis on which the sacrifice could be made. It’s Jesus’ sinless life that makes Jesus sacrifice a sweet smelling savour and pleasing to God. In essence no other sacrifice can top God’s own to redeem made to Himself.

The look

I used the BarryM Meteor Storm pallette again to create my makeup took. I am not sure if I have mentioned this before but I do not wear eyelashes so my makeup tend to look very basic.

For my outfit I opted for this floral skirt from asos and blouse from H & M, the shoes are from asos from their Truffle Collection. I purchased the skirt a few years back. I have currently made austerity measures and so I am not allowed to go on asos website lest I get tempted and spend money I do not have. 😁

When the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Unfortunate it look summer is coming it an end and autumn is slowly revealing it head. So I am glad I have worn all my floral but I will still wear these in winter if I can that is.

So this is it. Thanks for stopping. Until next time, it’s bye from me.

Is this the perfect selfie or what? The hair was done by myself.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This post is a very late one regarding my look last Sunday.

First the sermon

The sermon was about being justified by God and how can we be clean if we are born of a woman. The answer is through Christ Jesus God has made a way for all. It is up to you to accept His love and forgiveness.

The look & outfit

I had just come back from holiday and I intended to be floral but I changed my outfit in the end. So I wore this New Look floral blouse, Primark midi bodycon skirt with a slit I bought a few years ago and Nine West Shoes which were my birthday presents.

Whilst on holiday my friend gifted me with her BarryM palette which is what I used as it had bright colours to compensate the blouse.

dav

This is the palette my friend gifted me.

dav

The palette is called Meteor Storm has the below colours.

@jaybeeshow thank you. The below is what I managed to do with the palette, I must admit the colours looks brighter in real life.

That’s it for today’s post. Let me know what you think of my look and the outfit. I will use the palette again as I feel it has a lot of potential so stay tuned. I used L’Oréal True Match foundation in dark coffee and Mac studio finish concealer in NW45 which reminds me I have a £25 birthday gift voucher. I am looking to buy their bright lip colours. My lip colour in these pictures is BarryM matte me up lip paint in Signature. I did line my lips with BarryM lip pencil in plum too. Finally I used bnye luxury powder in Topaz to set my under eye.

Until next time. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today’s post is about last Sundays look which is well late, as always, but it’s better late than never. Last Sunday’s sermon was about God’s providence and the question Job raised was shall we receive good at the hand of God and shall we not receive  evil? This is a question you should ponder upon.

The look

Since it’s summer I am playing with colours with my clothes and my makeup pallette. I wore this look for my 29th birthday and thought let’s recycle. The skirt is from Asos and the stop and shoes are from top shop.

For the makeup I used MUA cosmetics bright vibrant colours and their single midnight blue pallette.

I was not too sure what to wear but managed to find something I purchased a few years back. As always reaching into my fashion archives to rescue the day.

What I wore is this gold on black dress from ASOS and black and leopard print heels from new look. I think I underestimated how short the dress was.

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today’s post is all about my look on Sunday. Last Sunday was fathers day and the sermon was about fathers unfortunately I had to do a few things during the sermon so I guess you can call me Martha, I missed the message. I wanted to keep it light and natural on Sunday partly because I was very tired. As part of the ushering team we wear uniforms every Sunday and last Sunday’s s was black and grey suit.

The lady in pink

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am not sure if I have mentioned this before but I mostly buy items on sale and never full price unless I really need to. With that said you will never see me featured on any of the high street retail Instagram page 🤭. OK I know never say never.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

One of my good friends birthday outing was this Saturday so I pulled out all the old garments I have purchased. I usually do not have anywhere to go so I have had them for years but maximum 4 years. The sandals I wore was a Nine West sandles I bought from asos some years back. The jumpsuit is from Miss Selfridge, they were the only shop that usually stock my size so I shopped there a lot from their petite fashion.

The jumpsuit has a gold detail skinny belt which adds a bit of character to it. I thought the colour was a bit too much but then when I wore it out it was just fine. I also found an OPI nail polish which matched the jumpsuit. Those are my real nails you see the slide as well.

The birthday girl gave me the opportunity to do her makeup and hair #blessed. This was her final look. She uses a super drug brand foundation and MUA eye shadow pallette. We both wore a jumpsuit however hers are from boohoo.

I know this is well late but better late than never. I am now off to edit my workout video for YouTube. Stay tuned

Until next time it’s bye from me.

My modest Marilyn Monroe moment

Hello and welcome. Here is a two blogs in one. I have been a bit busy over the past two weeks as I had an exam. So a bit about this Sundays WORD was a question. As a believe how seriously do you take God. Do you profess with your mouth and live any how? Time to think, ponder and change if need be. How shall we neglect so great a salvation? God hate sin and has provided atonement for us in Christ Jesus, let’s not make a mockry of Him by living any how.

Last Sunday’s look

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

For this look, the trousers is from asos, the blouse is from H&M. The black and white shoes are from Dorothy Perkins and the nudeish one is from new look. The trouser in this picture didn’t fit me back then, but now they do and I am glad. The eye shadow in this picture is MUA and the lips are elf cosmetics Ruby Red.

This Sundays look

As you can see I am slowly movi g toward vibrant colours. For the eye shadow I used MUA and my lips are BarryM matte me up. The skirt is from Asos, I bought this a few years ago but it didn’t fit either, it does now although it has been adjusted I can take the adjusted part off. The blouse is from Primark. Now that I have a better eating habit, I fit in the size 6 properly as well as 8. I think before the sizing was not true and was a hit and miss for me.

Until next time stay blessed.

All set and ready for church

Hello and welcome to my blog. Yesterday we had a lovely weather in the UK. The sun was out so it was hot.

The sermon was about based on questions the disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24. When shall these things be and what are the signs of thy coming? It was concluded that it is not our job to try and read signs of His second coming to to focus on our responsibility as Christians and live a life faithful before God. Remind me of R C Sprolls phrase “To live all of life Coram Deo” which means to live life in the presence of God even though you don’t see Him.

The look

As the sun was out, I decided to wear another african print dress. See the slide below. This dress was gifted to me and as always the shoes are old new look shoes.

The look: makeup

The eye shadow is MUA copper and another colour similar to the greenish dots in my dress. I used MAC foundation in NW55 this time, I do not use this that often because it for special occasion as it a bit pricey. The lip colour is mainly BarryM lip pencil in chocolate. I say mainly because I used another old Mac lip gloss and bare minerales mascara on the lashes. I wanted to tone down the colour since the dress was very bright and cheerful lol.  I am not a big fan of lashes as I usually wear glasses although I have a few of them. I was wearing contact lenses in this picture so if my eyes look a bit strange that is the reason. The aim is now to play with colours on the eyes while still keeping it natural.

That’s all for this blog. Until next time, stay blessed.

Your hair will love this

Hello and welcome to my blog. This blog is basically about some of the natural homemade remedies I make and use to deep condition my hair. There is nothing new about this sort of mixture.

The avocado hair mix

When I first started out in my natural hair journey, I tried a lot of things. And being worried about too many chemicals in off the shelf products, I used a lot more clays and Indian powders like Neem and Amla. I also deep conditioned with fruits such as banana, avocado and even papaya.

When my hair was relaxed I tried the York, honey and olive oil mixture. There was an interview with Kimora Lee Simmons in the Sophisticated Black Hair magazine who stated that this was what she used to deep condition her hair. So I decided to try and my result is as below; my hair felt strong, voluminous and bouncy.

DSC09696

This is me when I first tried what Kimora suggested in her interview. I washed the hair and put rollers in 🤭 I was about 17 or 18 at that time, it was 2006. My hair was coloured as well.

dav

This is how the mixture looks like with all the ingredients

Having taken out my hair about three weeks ago I decided to treat the hair by deep conditioning with this all natural homemade hair mask.

DSC01179

The ingredient I used. I will probably do this once a month or once every two weeks. My hair is most likely going to be in braids most of the time but summer is here so for a long as I have it out

The ingredients in the mask is as follows:

Avocado

Egg York

Avocado oil

Jojoba oil

Olive oil

Coconut oil

Castor oil

Honey

Glycerine

A squeeze of lemon

Cedarwood, Peppermint, Rosemary, Frankincense and Lavender essential oil

Tea spoon of apple cider vinegar

Aloe Vera and Rosemary floral water

Detangle and section the hair

DSC01194

I then put the mixture in my hair in sections.

I left it on for a about 2 to 3 hours while I did something else and washed it off. I oiled my hair and scalp with an oil mixture I made for my self, I then used the African Pride’s leave in conditioner and my shea butter mix to moisturise. I followed this with detangling and cornrow the hair. I took out the cornrow the next day and my hair was as below, it was very soft.

I am not too bothered about defined curls so I was happy with the result. Although my face takes most of the shots, I had not planned to blog about this. I filmed it to post on YouTube, I will take pictures of the hair when I do do this again.

I will end this here and until next time, it bye from me.
